Oshippy
Trust & safety

Safety at Oshippy

We built Oshippy for everyday people — not for moving dangerous or illegal goods. Here is how we keep the platform safe for senders, recipients, and carriers.

Verified sender accounts

Every Oshippy account requires email verification. Optional phone verification adds another layer of trust. We do not support anonymous shipping.

Secure payments through Stripe

All payments are processed by Stripe. Oshippy never stores your credit card number or CVV. You see a clear breakdown of carrier postage and the Oshippy fee before you pay.

Real carrier labels

Labels are purchased from USPS and UPS through our shipping partners. Physical delivery is performed by the carrier — not by Oshippy.

Prohibited-item screening

We screen item descriptions and photos against a list of restricted categories. Unsafe or illegal items cannot be shipped through our standard workflow.

Package content confirmation

Before payment, you confirm that you are the sender, your description is accurate, and your package contains no prohibited items.

Photo retention

Package and item photos help us assist with your shipment and support safety reviews. Unnecessary raw photos are deleted after 30 days by default.

Before you pay

Every shipment requires you to confirm the following. These checkboxes are never pre-checked.

Required confirmations

You must agree to all items before checkout.

  • I am the sender of this package.
  • The package description is accurate.
  • This package contains no illegal, prohibited, hazardous, or restricted items.
  • I understand that materially inaccurate package information may result in an additional carrier charge or shipment delay.
  • I authorize Oshippy to charge my saved payment method for carrier adjustments when the carrier determines declared package details were inaccurate.
  • I understand that USPS or UPS (not Oshippy) is responsible for delivery, transit time, and any loss or damage after the carrier accepts my package.

Shipping & carrier responsibility

Oshippy helps you buy postage and print labels. Once you drop off your package, the carrier you chose — USPS or UPS — physically handles delivery. They are responsible for transit time, loss, damage, and delivery outcomes after they accept or scan your package.

Lost, damaged, or delayed packages

File claims directly with the carrier. Oshippy cannot recover packages in transit or override carrier decisions.

USPS claims and refunds

UPS file a claim

Unused label refunds are handled separately — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Photos and privacy

Photos of addresses, items, and packages are used to help extract shipping details and support safety review. Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe. Learn more in our Privacy Policy and Prohibited Items Policy.
